Hanukkah vs. Christmas

      During the month of December two major religious holidays occur, we are of course speaking of Hanukkah and Christmas. For Christianity, Christmas represents the celebration of the birth of messiah. Hanukkah, however is the celebration of God's miracle of helping the Macabee's overthrow Israel's oppressors. As one can see, the roots of these holidays are fairly different... or are they?
